This best selling pitter is unique in that it uses a plain screw-top jar as its platform and pit collector. This leaves the user with fee hands to handle the cherries and the push button plunger. The soft rubber strip, carefully centers and protects the cherry as the plunger removes the pit, leaving the cherry itself, round and firm. This cherry pitter is from Door county, Wisconsin. In 1938 Otto Krasberg saw the need for hand cherry pitter. He designed and crafted 9 separate dies used to make the metal parts. | | | Features: | |

By C. Hartley I bought this pitter after going cherry picking, and halfway through pitting the cherries for a pie, it fell apart. Granted, it was under $10, but if you plan on doing this often, you will want to invest in something a bit sturdier.
Simple, EZ to use!Jul 20, 2011
By Miss Meezer I have 2 flats of quart tart cherries to pitt - we were using paperclips, two quarts and both of us said - there must be a better way. Very happy to find this little cherry pitter - worked so well we got an additional - we were able to go through the rest of the flat this evening - one flat down - the other flat to tackle tomorrow.
I like this one with the push - rather than the type that is like a staple remover - I get frequent tendinitis and this push style pitter works well for me.

By Barbara Klein I had a cherry pitter similar to this one that our family had used for over 50 years and it just plain wore out. I was so excited to find this replacement. It is easy to use and every cherry was pitted perfectly! Love it! We have two of them now, so I am set for the next 100 years.
