Wow, someone finally figured out that many of the things we cook on griddles aren't 3x4 inch rectangles!! This pancake turner is actually shaped round like a round thing you'd actually cook. And, the stuff that is getting cooked doesn't bond to the surface of this spectacular spatula. So far, so good. A lot of help for a little price.

It might seem rather odd at first to buy something like a spatula online. But something like the Oxo here is a rare find in stores in most locales. This is the type of tool that one may tend to feel is not worth it at first for it appears to have such a narrow field of functionality. But it is truly useful for a lot of different cooking chores. It is much wider than the usual spatula and easily handles the obvious like pancakes and omelets with ease. However what I have also found it to be very useful for is for all the sautéing that folks that love to cook do. Its very useful in scooping and turning things like fried onions, peppers, mushrooms, bacon, and even when browning meat. Although others here have mentioned it being a little big for such chores, I found it much easier to handle and convenient as opposed to a regular spatulas when dealing with a lot of fixens in a big frying pan. Get used to it and its one or two turns tops and your food is uniformly turned and sizzling. I particularly found this spatula handy on camping trips, where the flexible handle makes it much easier to handle things like beans and bacon over a frying pan that is at an odd or inconvenient angle. (You cook most meals on a camping trip bent at the knees). Finally, so far for me this spatula has truly been a non stick one. (I have had one for almost a year now). Nothing clings to it, and it is a cinch to keep clean. I like this spatula and find it far more versatile than for just pancakes.
I have taken one star off, for the other reviewers here that have mentioned the metal flex part being a little on the short side are correct. You have to be careful with this spatula if you're one to lay it in the frying pan on occasion. The manufacturer was not really thinking of that convenience when designing it unfortunately. However over all I feel this spatula is a very worthwhile investment at a very fair price, and I highly recommend it...

When I ordered this turner for use in my new non-stick electric skillet, I was unprepared for how large it really is. Good thing I also ordered a countertop utensil storage bin, as this would take up half of my utensil drawer!
I know this is supposedly designed for flipping pancakes, but I've found it just too big to be convenient. I have a hard time getting it in between pancakes unless they are spaced far apart in the pan (which they usually are not!). Not sure if it is due to the angle of the handle, or the sheer size of it, but I have a hard time getting it to slide underneath a pancake without sliding the pancake up against it's neighbor, or getting the back of the turner stuck in the pancake next to it. I find I use the Oxo rectangular flexible silicone turner much more often.

very large!! guess i didnt pay attention to the demensions. i mean, if you use it to cook anything else but pancakes... (eggs ect) you might not be able to cook more than one at a time cause you wont be able to flip them. but very durable and easy to clean. other than that i might get another if it comes in a smaller size.
